 It takes place between Florence and Viareggio the 1st International Symposium "Dialogue between cultures. Carnivals in the world" promoted by foreign universities with the collaboration of Tuscan agencies and institutions.

On February 3 and 4 at the Auditorium al Duomo in Florence the lectures will start. They will continue on February 5, 6 and 7 in the Tuscan capital of Carnival, Viareggio, on the premises of the Palace Congress Hotel .
 
60 speakers from 21 countries, mainly Latin America, Australia, Asia and Euorpe, participate in the event.
 
The Symposium aims at raising the value of intercultural dialogue and the promotion of local traditions of both the tangible and intangible heritage according to the UNESCO Conventions of 1972, 2003 and 2005.
 
The reports will be mainly held in Italian, English and Spanish.
